The Catholic Star Herald History
History
The Catholic Star Herald is a premier publication serving the Diocese of Camden, with a rich history spanning 73 years. The first issue of the Catholic Star Herald was dated May 11, 1951, while Pius XII was pope, Harry S. Truman was president, and CBS was working on a new show called “I Love Lucy.” Printed at a press in Rochester, N.Y., it was the first diocesan newspaper in New Jersey. It was named the Star Herald in honor of Mary, Our Lady Star of the Sea. Through the years, the Catholic Star Herald has been honored with national awards for its editorial content, photography, newspaper design, and quality advertising.

Published 36 times a year, it reaches an extensive audience, with 42,000 copies mailed to paid households and an estimated readership of 105,000. This makes the Catholic Star Herald an exceptional medium for advertisers aiming to engage a devoted and influential community.
A Desirable Demographic
Catholic readers in America represent a highly desirable demographic for advertisers. They are well-educated, loyal, and possess significant buying power, making the Catholic Star Herald a prime vehicle for your advertising efforts. Statistics show that Catholic households are more likely to own their homes, occupy professional or managerial positions, and make substantial purchases such as a third car. Additionally, a large portion of this audience holds college or graduate degrees, further highlighting their value as informed and engaged consumers.
