Target mindset: “Everyone is my customer”
Why This Matters
Marketing fails most often because businesses try to talk to everyone—and end up connecting with no one.
The most successful marketing begins with clarity.
The Scientific Truth
Human brains are wired to:
- Ignore irrelevant messages
- Notice what feels personal
- Respond to familiarity
If your message doesn’t feel personal, it won’t work.
Defining Your Ideal Customer
You do not need hundreds of customers.
You need the right customers.
Ask:
- Who benefits most from my service?
- Who buys repeatedly?
- Who refers others?
Demographics vs. Behavior
Good marketing looks beyond age and income and focuses on:
- Needs
- Motivations
- Pain points
- Buying triggers
Simple Exercise
Write one paragraph describing your best customer as if you were explaining them to a new employee.
That paragraph becomes the foundation for everything else.
